#4 – Love and Misadventure

First of all, happy new year 2016!

2015 was something, really and I would never wish to go back to it! Let’s just leave some memories there, never to be brought to the present. Ever. Haha.

Anyway, these past few years (2 years to be exact lol) I haven’t been able to read as many books as I wanted to. I couldn’t manage to reach my reading goals and my failure to do so makes me feel so awful being an avid reader and all.

But this year I’m going to make up for it! My to-be-read pile is as high as Broga Hill, and I plan to finish reading at least a quarter of it this year! My reading goal for this year is only 50 books (hoping to read more, really), because I’ll be venturing into a new career sometime in February (hopefully) and I’m getting married too around July so busy busy year ahead! Wish me luck!

Anyway, back to the purpose of this post, I recently read Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav (it seems to be a hit among my female friends) and finally decided to do a review on it today!

Personally, I like it, but only as a bedtime reading, a light reading at its best. The poems are short, so are the stories but the universal theme of “love” does make it more bearable than most poetry books. Poetry isn’t for everyone and that’s that.

However, I really have to praise Lang Leav for her incredible writing skills though. She has this.. lovely way of turning simple, everyday words into stringing, rhythmical prose that make up the poems in her book.

I gave it 3/5 on my Goodreads but hey give it a try, you might feel differently about this book :)
